Northwest Lineman College (NLC), is offering a rare opportunity for two exceptional and proven leaders. Due to recent internal promotions, NLC is filling Campus President positions at both our Idaho and California campuses. The Campus President is a key executive within the organization, ensuring the highest standard of operational and educational excellence in the delivery of pre-apprentice, apprentice and specialized training within the Power, Gas and Telecom industries. Campus President positions manage an individual campus location and report to the VP of Campus Operations, based at corporate headquarters and accountable for oversight of all campus locations.

What the Campus President does:

  • Ensures education and training programs delivered on campus are innovative, relevant, effective and best in class
  • Oversees and monitors campus quality controls, including employment verification, audit requirements, student survey outcomes, delivery of electives, student housing, etc., verifying the total student experience is of the highest possible standard
  • Ensures enrollment trends/forecasts align with capacity and available resources and that staff is scheduled in coordination with all NLC offerings and at optimal utilization rates
  • Leads implementation of new educational offerings, services, facilities and labs
  • Full ownership and accountability for the Campus Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, inventory levels and annual budget projections
  • Fortifies and cultivates relationships with regional utilities and construction companies, trade organizations, industry manufacturers, and local governments
  • Leads the intelligent integration of safety and environmental best practices into campus operations with NLC training and education programs
  • Reports key metrics of campus operations to include retention, accreditation, compliance, revenue, operating income, budget, new program roll out, graduate employment rates, elective course offerings as well as student/graduate and employer/customer satisfaction
  • Creates meaningful ways to recognize employee performance
  • Facilitates a positive work environment, one in which employees are inspired, empowered, and respected
  • Commits to lifelong learning through continual professional improvement and by participating in strategic initiatives to support NLC’s long-term success

The success patterns for this position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Education, or a related field, plus ten (10) years’ of progressive management experience with operational and P&L responsibility for a budget of over $10+ million
  • Direct supervisory experience hiring and managing high producing teams
  • Experience working in/with the energy or telecom industry

About Generation:
Generation is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of Southern California Edison’s Generation assets. Which includes: hydro, solar, gas, combined cycle, and fuel cells.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Dam Safety Engineer will perform technical studies, analyses and inspections under the direction of senior staff in support SCE’s commitment to safe and reliable operation of its hydropower assets. Key areas of responsibility include seismic hazard analysis, computer modeling, and risk assessment.

Typical Responsibilities:
Perform technical analyses related to dam safety, focusing on hazards, performance, and risk under the direction of senior staff.
Prepare reports and briefings to meet internal and regulatory needs under the direction of senior staff.
Participate in field inspections of dams and appurtenant structures
Participate in meetings with state and federal regulators as a technical resource.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geology, or technical field
  • Zero to Three years of engineering experience
  • Experience with Deterministic and Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis
  • Experience with Finite Element Modeling
  • Experience with acquiring and processing field data for structural performance evaluation of dams
  • Must be able to travel by foot distances of up to five miles at elevations up to 10,000 feet to access remote dam sites
  • A valid driver’s license

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Geology, or technical field
  • EIT
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing technical solutions to evaluate the safety of dams


Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA, however, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at Hydro Electric facilities throughout SCE’s territory.

Position will require traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory up to 20% of the time.

Position is based in Austin, TX. Vice President, Director will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects ensuring consistency with company and client strategies, commitments and goals. Position involved the management and mentoring of the technical resource team consisting of scientists, biologists, and engineers. Position is part of the executive team of Energy Renewal Partners and individual will actively participate in management meetings, direction setting, overall strategy, and development of company objectives and goals. Although based in Austin, travel is expected up to 30% of the time. Experience with permitting, renewable energy or other energy sector experience is a requirement.

  • Experience in energy sector experience is preferred
